Relaxation Exercise

Being home from work sick today gave me the opportunity to listen to the relaxation exercise with my laptop on my "lap"! Not feeling the best, I wish I could have "suggested" my sickness away but, I did do this exercise and felt very relaxed. When I made the effort to try and lift my arms, they really did want to stay put. I did find my self occassionally opening my eyes but, I do think with practice, this type of relaxation exercise truly works.

  1. Hi Jill,

I hope you feel better. I enjoyed the relaxation exercise also. I needed another relaxation technique I can do at home to help me to relax. Because when I have had a long day at work, my muscles are so tired and when I lay down to go to sleep I can not rest. Because when I tried this technique today after work, I was able to lay in my bed and take a short nap. And when I woke up I felt better.

  2. Jill - So sorry to hear that you are under the weather (and I hope that you start to feel better soon.) I've had a chance to do the exercise again...and I don't know it was because I was exhausted or that the technique worked - but either way I didn't want to lift my arm this time either :-)

I've seen the same exercise done except the suggestions let a person have their arm "float" and lift on its own.

Question - while you were relaxed...why didn't you wish the sickness away? If you try it again, I would love to hear the results.

    Take Care - David

  3. Jill i hope you begin to feel better soon. I also had a gread experience when doing the excercise and found how heavy my arms had become. I will definatly try this when time for bed because i want my whole body to feel the way my arms and hands felt.

  4. *LOL* That's great, Jill! If only we could all simply suggest away our illness. ^_^ That would be awesome.

I truly do hope that you are feeling better.

To be honest, I wouldn't want to do this exercise again. I found the guys voice to be very annoying. Especialy how often he repeated himself. But, maybe that's because I'm use to doing similar exercises at the Grove, with Sifu. I'm sure this relaxation exercise is great for beginners, though. Keep trying, and I'm sure that you will find it to be very helpful. ^_^
